It Tastes Much Better Than It Looks: I’m aware that this picture makes this dish look awful. I assure you, it’s quite the opposite! The problem is: the broccoli falls apart during cooking, which gives the whole dish a green hue. You can avoid this by steaming the broccoli and adding it at the end (Frozen broccoli from Aldi comes in a microwave steamable bag, so you won’t even have to dirty another dish if you don’t want to). Just remember if you do this, the brocolli won’t have all of the teriyaki flavor infused, and it’s no longer a one pot freezer dump meal. It’s up to you!
Aldi Friendly: All the ingredients listed can be found at Aldi, and I have listed them by their Aldi brand names. You can, of course find these ingredients in most other stores if you do not have an Aldi!
Freezer Directions: Put everything into a gallon zip-lock bag and freeze. Put Chicken in last. (You want the chicken to be first when you pour into the slow-cooker.) Defrost in the fridge 24-48 hours before serving day and dump into the slow-cooker. Looking for more Freezer Dump Meals? Check out my Freezer Cooking Section!
Kid Approval: My kids love vegetables, especially broccoli, but if you have a harder time getting your kids to eat their greens, this is a good recipe for you. The teriyaki marinade makes everything delicious!
